Honorary Consul calls on Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan (22^nd May, 2023)

Ms. Tahseen Sayed Khan, the Honorary Consul for Albania in Islamabad, visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Government of Pakistan on May 22, 2023. She called on Mr. Muhammad Saleem, Additional Secretary (Europe), Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan to discuss areas of cooperation between Pakistan and Albania. The Honorary Consul highlighted opportunities for building engagement between the two countries, and exchanged views with the Additional Secretary on potential areas of bilateral cooperation, and collaboration in the areas of tourism, trade, investment and digital skills. During her visit to MoFA, Ms. Sayed also met Ms. Rabia Shafiq, Director General (Europe) and they explored further areas of bilateral cooperation

International Tourism Forum held in Tirana, Albania (3-5 April, 2023)

The Ministry of Tourism and Environment of the Republic of Albania in collaboration with the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) under the special care of the Prime Minister of Albania, Mr. Edi Rama, and Secretary – General of the UNWTO, Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, organized the International Tourism Forum “The Future of Environmental Sustainable Tourism in Albania (FESTA)” that was held in Tirana, Albania from April 3-5, 2023.

FESTA brought together experts in the field of development and tourism from thirty eight different countries. FESTA served as a highly effective and successful platform for panels and discussions among policymakers, entrepreneurs, operators of hospitality and all those who contribute to the shaping of the tourism industry. The Forum themes covered a range of topics and deliberated on current trends for sustainable tourism. They also explored areas such as professional skills in tourism growth, cultural tourism, agritourism, and green tourism opportunities, among others. The opportunities for tourism development in the Western Balkans, including in Albania, were especially highlighted.
